How this is calculated
Income tax uses the resident rates: nil up to $18,200, then 16 percent to $45,000 (15 percent from 1 July 2026), 30 percent to $135,000, 37 percent to $190,000 and 45 percent above that. The low income tax offset (up to $700 for incomes under $66,667) is applied. The 2 percent Medicare levy is added. Super is paid on top by your employer at 12 percent and is not part of take-home pay unless your package is quoted including super.
If your $60,000 figure includes super, your gross salary is lower. Use the full calculator to switch that setting.
